About
Jillianne has spent her entire life balancing a love for science and art. Raised on the Navajo reservation in Arizona and in the city of Cleveland, Ohio, Jillianne traveled between many socioeconomic climates and physical landscapes. This taught her an appreciation for the beauty of various cultures and how art can be used to express it. In high school she attended an Arts & Leadership Academy in Flagstaff while interning at the Museum of Northern Arizona’s Signage and Archaeology departments. During the summers, she volunteered at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History while cultivating a love of Astronomy with her father, an amateur telescope maker. After earning a BFA in Graphic Design at Stephens College, she worked as a Graphic Designer for the Children’s Museum of Tucson from 2010-1014. There she created 3D interactive displays and learned to collaborate with other designers to create entertaining exhibits for children and adults. In 2012, she began work as the Lead Sculptor for Gail T. Roberts Studio, creating large-scale murals for museums, hospitals, and national parks. In 2016 she moved to Portland, OR with her husband and two dogs. There she created Vespertine, her own ceramics business that continues to sell online and throughout Portland! Since 2020, Jillianne has also enjoyed working as Lead Graphic Designer for Gemisphere, a therapeutic gemstone company. After being promoted twice within the company, she continues to create visually compelling graphics for ad campaigns while successfully maintaining a high-production ceramics business from her home studio.
